Elizabeth Butler Remembrance - Public Ceremony

Community Studies alumna and former Santa Cruz Police Detective Elizabeth Butler (class of 1996) was remembered at a public ceremony on Tuesday, February 21, 2014, from 6-7pm in the City Hall courtyard, 809 Center Street (downtown).   "Beth" (as she was known to us in Community Studies) was tragically slain one year ago in the course of investigating a domestic violence complaint.  Beth always considered her work as a police officer to be part of her lifelong work for social justice.   We honor her life and work.
